Overview

The ACT Government is providing financial assistance to eligible owners corporations to test and assess cladding. The Private Buildings Cladding (Supplementary) Scheme is open to eligible owners corporations that need support to assess the risk of cladding on their buildings.

Private Buildings Testing and Assessment Scheme

The Private Buildings Testing and Assessment Scheme is no longer accepting applications.

The scheme provided grants to owners corporations of eligible apartment buildings. The grants were worth up to $20,000. This money was used to provide a rebate on the cost of testing and assessing cladding. Applications for the grant were accepted between 21 July 2021 and 21 July 2022.

Private Buildings Cladding (Supplementary) Scheme

The Private Buildings Cladding (Supplementary) Scheme (the Supplementary Scheme) is a limited scheme open to eligible owners corporations to test and assess their cladding for risk. Funding is available to owners corporations that did not receive a rebate under the previous Private Buildings Cladding Testing and Assessment Scheme. The Supplementary Scheme provides financial assistance to class 2 apartment buildings of three storeys or more.

Financial assistance

Through the Private Buildings Cladding Concessional Loan Scheme, owners corporations of eligible buildings can access a low-interest loan to fund cladding remediation on higher risk cladding.
