Overview
The ACT Government administers two National Prequalification Schemes:
- National Prequalification Scheme for Non-Residential Building Contractors ($50m and greater)
- National Prequalification System for Civil (Road and Bridge) Construction.
There are different requirements for each scheme. Please review the requirements of the scheme you are applying for and complete the application form.
The Prequalification Registrar will assess your application and notify you in writing when your prequalification application is approved.
Prequalification will be approved for three years, and then fully reviewed at that time.
If you are applying under the ACT prequalification scheme, please visit the apply for ACT prequalification page.

Mutual recognition
Contractors who hold certification under the two National Prequalification Schemes (Non Residential Building and Civil Road and Bridge ) with other jurisdictions may apply for mutual recognition with the ACT Government.
The possession of another jurisdiction prequalification certification does not automatically grant National prequalification in the ACT.
Businesses will be asked to provide application information and a certificate associated with interstate prequalification. Mutual recognition can be awarded following a successful assessment of your application.
For Occupational Health and Safety or work health safety, accreditation with the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner may be accepted.
