We provide support to the Chief Minister, the ACT Executive and the ACT Public Service on Cabinet and Government business.

What we do

We also coordinate and facilitate the passage of government business in the ACT Legislative Assembly.

How we support government business in the Assembly

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) is the parliament for Australia’s capital. We work across the ACT Government to manage the flow of government business to the Assembly by:

  • ensuring legislation and other government business is processed, complying with ACT Legislative Assembly processes
  • assisting with the coordination of the Assembly sittings and Government business for Government engagement with committee processes.

The Office of the Legislative Assembly provides support to members of the Legislative Assembly. For more information, see the Legislative Assembly website.
