What we do

Infrastructure Canberra plans, procures, delivers and maintains infrastructure for the ACT Government.

We work with other government directorates, industry and the community to deliver the places and services Canberra needs as it grows.

We are responsible for:

  • planning, procuring and delivering the ACT Government’s infrastructure program
  • coordinating the ACT Infrastructure Plan and Infrastructure Pipeline
  • managing, maintaining and upgrading government property
  • supporting leasing and community venue hire
  • managing contractor prequalification and construction contracts
  • engaging with the infrastructure and construction industry
  • providing strategic infrastructure advice and project assurance.

How we work

Our values are safety, integrity, respect, excellence, innovation and collaboration.

Yindyamarra

Yindyamarra is a Wiradjuri word and way of being. It means to respect, honour, show kindness and act with care.

We apply Yindyamarra to how we treat people, work with our partners and care for Country.

Our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan 2025–26 explains how we are embedding these principles in our work.

Strategic objectives

Our Strategic Plan 2025–27 sets four objectives:

  • our people and culture at our heart
  • excellence in service
  • partnering for success
  • better tools for outstanding outcomes.

We also manage Territory-wide programs, including:

Infrastructure planning

We coordinate the ACT Infrastructure Plan, which sets the Territory’s long-term infrastructure direction.

We also publish the Infrastructure Pipeline. It helps industry and the community understand what is planned and underway.
