Experiment: Spring Carnival

Enjoy a beautiful day outdoors as Haig Park comes to life with four distinct areas to experience. Stock up at the picnic market or BYO barbecue or picnic to share a meal with new and old friends, check out the kids activities, watch great local performances or dance along to the live music, and take your furry friends through our dog agility equipment. This is a celebration of the best that spring has to offer in Canberra – a gorgeous setting, good friends and great times.

Place plan theme: Cultural Program 'to provide a diverse range of things to do within the park.'

Date: Sunday 17 November 12pm - 5pm, 2019.

Location: Throughout Haig Park.

Observation: Haig Park has a reputation for being dark and unsafe. The park lends itself to community events that would foster improved perception and use of the Park, but few occur.

Hypothesis: A spring themed event that challenges preconceptions and embraces spring could lay new foundations for evolving perceptions of Haig Park and piloting a concept for a new annual event.

Favourable outcome: Strong attendance and participation from a diverse audience. Positive feedback from attendees who are encouraged to visit the Park more as a result of the event.

We would love to get your feedback on this experiment. Have YourSay and help to improve Haig Park.
