What we do

We strive to create a community where women are safe, healthy, equally represented, and valued for their contribution to society.

We offer a range of services and programs to improve the status of women, girls and gender diverse people in the ACT.

Our focus areas are:

• health and wellbeing
• safety and inclusion
• leadership and workforce participation
• housing and homelessness
• appropriate and accessible services.

Our programs

• The Audrey Fagan Leadership and Communication Program: is a series of workshops and coaching sessions with resources and materials.
• The Audrey Fagan Board Mentor Program: connects women to a board and mentor and support in corporate governance.
• Audrey Fagan Enrichment Grant Program: providing funding to develop a project that will women achieve their goals.
• The Women’s Return to Work Program: offers free workshops on writing resumes, interview practice, industry experts and guest speakers.
• Period products: offers information about where to access free period products and information about periods.

Strategies

ACT Women's Plan 2016 – 2026: sets out the ACT Government’s ongoing commitment to work in partnership with non-government organisations, business and the broader community towards gender equality for all ACT women. It outlines priority areas for action to enhance the economic status, social inclusion, safety and wellbeing of ACT women.

Honours and awards

• ACT Women's Awards: recognise women, gender diverse and non-binary people in the ACT region who contribute to lasting and positive change.
• Women's Honour Roll: showcases the achievements of women in the ACT and those who are excelling in their field.

Advisory councils and reference groups

ACT Ministerial Advisory Council on Gender Equity: gives strategic advice to the Minister for Women on issues affecting women in the ACT.
