We provide a wide range of grants, funding and other support to individuals, groups, and organisations that benefit Canberrans and the Canberra community.
2024-25 Arts Activities Up to $5k
This grant supports ACT-based artists at all stages of their careers and organisations providing the Canberra community with opportunities to engage in the arts.
- What you get: Up to $5,000
- Who can apply: Canberra artists, groups and organisations.
Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation (ACCO) Establishment and Expansion Fund
This grant is for Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations who provide culturally appropriate human services to the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
- What you get: Up to $15,000 – $50,000
- Who can apply: Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations delivering human services in the ACT.
Audrey Fagan Enrichment Grant Program
This program supports girls, young women, non-binary and gender diverse young people to develop a project that will help achieve their goals.
- What you get: Up to $2,000
- Who can apply: Girls, young women, non-binary or gender diverse young people aged 12 to 18 years
Future of Education Equity Fund
One-off payment to families to help get the things their child needs for school and their wellbeing.
- What you get: $400 – $750
- Who can apply: Low-income families with a child enrolled in an ACT school from preschool to year 12.
Private Buildings Concessional Loan Scheme
Concessional loans for owners corporations to pay for combustible cladding remediation works.
- What you get: Low interest concessional loan worth up to $15 million
- Who can apply: Owners corporations who have identified cladding on their building that poses a moderate or high risk.
Youth InterACT Scholarship
This scholarship helps young people attend events or activities to develop professionally and personally.
- What you get: $500 for individuals or $1,500 for groups
- Who can apply: Young people aged 12 to 25 years who are representing the ACT or part of an ACT-based program.
Major Event Fund
The fund supports major events that can drive substantial economic impact for Canberra through event-based tourism.
- What you get: $50,000 – $500,000
- Who can apply: Applicants must have an ABN and public liability insurance.
Early Learning Connection Scholarship Program
This scholarship is for women in Canberra who want to start their journey in early childhood education or grow their career further.
- What you get: Coaching and support, financial assistance for course fees, paid employment
- Who can apply: Women who live and work in the ACT and want a career in early childhood education.
Build-to-Rent
Grants and tax concessions for affordable rental dwellings as part of an existing or planned Build-to-Rent development.
- What you get: Grant, rebate or tax exemption
- Who can apply: Property owners, community housing providers, Build-to-Rent operators
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Enrolled Nurse Scholarships
This scholarship provides financial assistance for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (First Nations) students to complete a Diploma of Nursing at CIT.
- What you get: Payment of course fees
- Who can apply: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students who have been offered enrolment in the Diploma of Nursing at CIT.
Aunty Agnes Shea Early Childhood Scholarship Program
This scholarship offers financial support to undertake a diploma or degree qualification in early childhood education.
- What you get: Financial support and paid leave to study
- Who can apply: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander educators.
Loose-Fill Asbestos Disease Support Scheme
This scheme makes payments to Canberrans who have developed an asbestos-related disease from living in an affected home.
- What you get: Financial support to cover out of pocket expenses
- Who can apply: Persons who developed an asbestos disease after living in a Mr Fluffy house in the ACT.
Bachelor of Midwifery Honours Scholarship
This scholarship offers the opportunity to complete the Bachelor of Midwifery (Honours) course part-time with a paid study component for 2 years.
- What you get: One paid study day per week
- Who can apply: Permanently employed midwives level 1.1 to 1.8.
ACT Women’s Return to Work grant
This grant helps women get the support they need to re-enter the workforce.
- What you get: Up to $1,000
- Who can apply: Women who have been out of the workforce for 6 months or more.
Sustainable Business Program
This program helps businesses become accredited and recognised as a Sustainable Business.
- What you get: Up to $13,000 in rebates
- Who can apply: Businesses or organisations that operate in the ACT from a commercial premises.
Diversification and Sustainability Support Fund – Tier 1 grants
This grant helps community clubs diversify their income and sustain their business.
- What you get: Up to $75,000
- Who can apply: Small or medium ACT clubs and club groups who have gaming machines under a Class C licence.
Safer Families Assistance
This is a one-off payment if you've experienced domestic or family violence.
- What you get: $2,000
- Who can apply: People 16 years or older who meet the income limits and have been referred by an ACT service.
Jennifer James Memorial Scholarship for Research
This scholarship offers the opportunity to complete the Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) course part-time with a paid study component for 2 years.
- What you get: One paid study day per week
- Who can apply: Permanently employed registered nurses.
Energy Innovation Fund
This fund provides flexible, early-stage grants for energy innovation projects.
- What you get: Up to $17 million over 5 years in total funding
- Who can apply: Businesses, research and trades institutions, think tanks, non-profits.
This grant is for events that bring life, colour, and vitality to the Canberra region.
- What you get: Up to $10,000 – $30,000
- Who can apply: Applicants must have an ABN and public liability insurance.
Allied Health Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme
This scholarship is for eligible allied health professional for postgraduate study, particularly in areas that have staff shortages.
- What you get: Funding for tuition fees
- Who can apply: Permanently employed/long term contracted allied health professionals with Canberra Health Services or ACT Health Directorate.
SYNERGY Innovation Scholarship
This scholarship supports nurses and midwives to undertake practice or process improvement projects within their work areas.
- What you get: Time off to do your project, get mentoring and attend workshops
- Who can apply: Permanently employed nurse, registered nurse or midwife with support from their Director.
Private Buildings Cladding (Supplementary) Scheme
This grant is for owners corporations to test and assess cladding.
- What you get: Up to $12,500
- Who can apply: Eligible owners corporations.
This grant is for activities and projects to help older Canberrans stay active in the community.
- What you get: Up to $10,000
- Who can apply: Community organisations that support older Canberrans.
Community Zero Emissions Grants
This grant is for projects that support the ACT community’s transition to net zero emissions, and increase community resilience to climate change impacts.
- What you get: $50,000 – $75,000
- Who can apply: Applicants must have an ABN and public liability insurance.
Multicultural Inclusion Grants
This grant is for projects and events that celebrate cultural diversity and social cohesion.
- What you get: Up to $6,000
- Who can apply: Not-for-profit or charitable organisations.
Public EV Charging Infrastructure Fund
Eligible electric vehicle (EV) charging operators can apply for funding to install public EV chargers around Canberra in 2024 and 2025.
- What you get: $1.5 million in total funding
- Who can apply: Applicants must have previous experience installing and operating public EV charging infrastructure.
Tourism Product Development Fund
Funding for businesses for tourism infrastructure, product and experience projects.
- What you get: Matched funding between $10,000 and $100,000
- Who can apply: ACT-based tourism or hospitality business.
University of Canberra scholarship
The University of Canberra offers a scholarship to contribute to the cost of a Graduate Certificate in Health Research.
- What you get: 50% of your course fees for a graduate certificate
- Who can apply: Allied health, nursing or midwifery staff working for the ACT Health or Canberra Health Services.
Nursing and Midwifery Professional Development Scholarship
This scholarship supports ongoing professional development including conference attendance, course participation and innovation projects.
The Connection Fund
This grant is for projects that create a sense of community, belonging and togetherness for LGBTIQA+ people.
- What you get: Up to $5,000 for individuals or up to $15,000 for organisations
- Who can apply: Individuals, not-for-profit organisations or community groups, businesses and social enterprises must show connections with LGBTIQA+ communities.
Partnership and Capacity Building Grant
This grant helps build or expand LGBTIQA+ organisations in the ACT region.
- What you get: Up to $50,000
- Who can apply: Not-for-profit organisations including LGBTIQA+ peer-led organisations and non-LGBTIQA+ organisations.
Community Sport Facilities Program
This funding is for not-for-profit sport, recreation and community organisations to develop fit for purpose places and spaces for sport and active recreation.
- What you get: Up to $2 million
- Who can apply: ACT state sport organisations and state active recreation organisations, not-for-profit sport, recreation or community organisations, ACT licensed clubs.
Community Gardens Grant Program
This grant supports the delivery of community gardens across Canberra to enhance community places and spaces.
- What you get: $2,000 – $30,000
- Who can apply: Not-for-profit community organisations, schools, community groups and owners’ corporations.
Environment Grants
This grant is for local projects to protect and enhance natural places in the ACT and to connect more people to nature.
- Who can apply: Not-for-profit organisations, community groups, owners’ corporation, parents and citizens association or an independent private school.
Women’s Participation Grants
This grant is for projects that promote women and gender diverse people as valued members of the ACT community.
- What you get: Up to $5,000 for individuals and up to $20,000 for organisations
- Who can apply: Organisations must be a registered not-for-profit or charity and operate in the ACT. Individuals must be over 18 and live in the ACT region.
Club Enhancement Program
Funding can be used to purchase equipment, increase the skills of coaches, officials, volunteers and management committees, or support improvements to clubs.
- What you get: $500 – $20,000
- Who can apply: ACT sport and active recreation clubs, district associations and state sporting organisations.
Audrey Fagan Board Mentor Program
Helping women gain the skills and experience to serve on boards through mentorship and training in governance, leadership and decision-making.
- What you get: Mentoring and training
- Who can apply: Any woman or gender diverse person with an interest in governance.

Heritage Grants
This grant helps the community to take care of places and objects listed on the ACT Heritage Register.
- Who can apply: Individuals, community groups, incorporated non-profits or private organisations.
Research and Innovation Fund Fellowship Program
The fund's fellowship program supports early to mid-year career researchers employed in the ACT Health system.
ACT Reconciliation Day Grants
This grant is for community organised events in the lead-up to, during, or in support of Reconciliation Day.
- What you get: Up to $5,000
- Who can apply: Individuals or organisations with a strong connection to the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community
Priority Investment Program
This program brings different sectors of the ACT economy together to help grow our economy.
- What you get: $3.5 million was available to fund projects from 2022 to 2024.
- Who can apply: ACT industry bodies, business, tertiary education institutions and research institutions.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts Program
This program supports arts and cultural outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.
- What you get: $3,000 – $15,000
- Who can apply: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander artists who reside in Canberra, groups or organisations led by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
ACT Adult Community Education (ACE) Grants
This grant is for the delivery of quality foundation skills training in accessible and inclusive community settings, to support Canberrans experiencing barriers to learning, training and work.
- What you get: $20,000 - $80,000
- Who can apply: Not-for-profit organisations in the ACT.
SYNERGY Research Internship Program
Successful applicants can complete the Graduate Certificate in Health Research course part-time with a paid secondment for 12 months.
- What you get: Paid secondment for 12 months, mentorship and support
- Who can apply: Registered nurses and midwives levels 1 and 2, including enrolled nurses.
Nature in the City: Cooling Your Suburb Grants
This grant is for projects to help make urban areas cooler and more resilient to climate change.
- What you get: Up to $50,000
- Who can apply: Applicants must have an ABN and public liability insurance.
Community Support and Infrastructure Grants
- What you get: Up to $10,000
- Who can apply: Not-for-profit or charitable organisations.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander grant program
Multiple grants to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people build better communities.
- What you get: Up to $5,000 for individuals or up to $10,000 for organisations
- Who can apply: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons or organisations with a strong connection the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
This grant is for projects that promote active healthy living and enable veterans to participate in community activities.
- What you get: Up to $15,000
- Who can apply: Community organisations that support veterans in Canberra.
ACT Quitline and ACT Quitline for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities
This grant is for service providers to deliver phone-based smoking and vaping support to ACT residents.
- What you get: Up to $775,000
- Who can apply: Organisations who have experience delivering health services to the community.
Innovation Connect Grants
This grant is for Canberra based innovative ideas, prototypes and projects. Aimed at early-stage entrepreneurs and startups.
- What you get: Matched funding between $10,000 and $30,000
- Who can apply: Canberra based organisations with an annual turnover of less than $2 million.
Nursing and Midwifery Postgraduate Scholarship
Scholarships for postgraduate tuition fees to support ongoing professional education and skill development.
- What you get: Payment of postgraduate tuition fees
- Who can apply: Nursing and midwifery students who have been accepted into a postgraduate program.
Companion Animal Care Grants Program
This grant supports community organisations to improve animal welfare outcomes across Canberra.
- What you get: $200,000 in total funding
- Who can apply: Community organisations.
ACT Social Enterprise Grant Program
This grant gives matched funding to help ACT social enterprises to start and grow.
- What you get: Matched funding between $10,000 – $30,000
- Who can apply: Established and start-up social enterprises.
CBR Screen Investment Fund
The fund fosters a vibrant screen industry in the ACT.
- What you get: Funding amount varies
- Who can apply: ACT practitioners are prioritised.

This program is for women and gender diverse people who want to gain confidence and improve their leadership and public speaking skills.

Youth InterACT Grants
The grant supports youth focused events or projects that help create a sense of community.

ACT Youth Week Grants
This grant helps young people run activities or events during Youth Week.
- What you get: Up to $2,000

ACT Women’s Safety Grants
This grant is for projects that support the health, safety and wellbeing of ACT women and gender diverse people who identify as female.

- Who can apply: Organisations must be a registered not-for-profit or charity and operate in the ACT.
Healing and reconciliation grants
Healing and reconciliation grants provide funding to promote healing and reconciliation in the ACT after the 2023 referendum.
- What you get: Up to $10,000
- Who can apply: Not-for-profit or charitable organisations, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations.
Disability Inclusion Grants
This grant helps people with disability to participate in mainstream community or social groups.
- What you get: Up to $20,000
- Who can apply: Community organisations and small businesses that support people with disability.
Adopt-A-Park Community Grants
Grants for Canberra volunteers to assist with the maintenance, care, and upgrade of local public spaces.
- What you get: Up to $40,000
- Who can apply: Existing groups within the Urban Parks and Places Volunteering Program.
Maternity in Focus Workforce Scholarship
This scholarship supports health professionals involved in maternity care in the ACT. It funds their professional development courses.
- What you get: Study reimbursement
- Who can apply: Health professionals involved in maternity care in the ACT. This includes midwives, nurses, doctors, and other eligible health professionals.
Diversification and Sustainability Support Fund – Tier 2 grants
This grant helps community clubs diversify their income and sustain their business.
- What you get: Up to $250,000
- Who can apply: ACT clubs or club groups who have gaming machines under a Class C licence, associated organisations or club workers.
ACT Rural Resilience Grants
This grant supports activities that reduce the impacts of drought, invasive weeds, pest animals and erosion.
- What you get: Up to $30,000
- Who can apply: Individual farm households or groups of farmers.
Environmental Volunteer Group Assistance Grants
This grant helps volunteer groups to build and grow through volunteer recruitment and training.
- Who can apply: Volunteer groups in the ACT doing environmental stewardship activities on public land.
Tenant Participation Grants
This grant helps public and social housing tenants to take part in a range of activities to improve their physical, social, and personal development.
- What you get: Up to $400
- Who can apply: Public or social housing tenants in the ACT receiving a rental rebate.
Disaster Ready Fund Round Three
This grant is for projects that address the physical and social impacts of disasters on our community.
- What you get: Up to 50% of the total project cost
- Who can apply: Non-government organisation, peak body, university or research institution, community group, business or ACT Government agency.
Vaping Cessation and Nicotine Dependence Support Service
This grant is for service providers to deliver a vaping cessation and nicotine dependence support service for young people.
- What you get: Up to $660,000
- Who can apply: Organisations who have experience delivering health services to the community.
Placemaking Grants
This grant is for placemaking projects to create lively, engaging, and dynamic spaces in the City Centre, New Acton and Braddon.
- What you get: Up to $50,000
- Who can apply: Businesses, community groups, and individuals.
Preparing Community Service Organisations for Climate Change Grant
This grant supports organisations to identify risks and take action to adapt to climate change.
- What you get: Up to $50,000
- Who can apply: Not-for-profit organisations in the ACT who get funding from the ACT Government
Early Childhood Degree Scholarship Program
This program offers up to 16 scholarships to help educators complete an early childhood degree.
- What you get: Up to $25,000 per scholarship for full-time or part-time study
- Who can apply: Early childhood educators currently working at an ECEC service in the ACT.
Delivering peer support for LGBTIQA+ people with disability
This grant helps set up a peer support program where LGBTIQA+ people with disability can connect and improve their wellbeing.
- What you get: $451,000 for up to 3 organisations
- Who can apply: Specific not-for-profit organisations including LGBTIQA+ peer-led organisations and Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs).
LGBTIQA+ Leadership Grant
This grant supports people who want to develop or improve as an LGBTIQA+ leader.

- Who can apply: LGBTIQA+ community leaders.
