Alinga Street

Alinga Street

Creative banner that reads" Better City Streets. Creating a pedestiran-firendly City Centre" with a cross section concept of a street.

We are planning to upgrade Alinga Street to make it safer and easier for residents, workers and visitors to move around, come together and relax.

The project focuses on how to create a modern city street that balances the needs of all community members, including pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users.

In enhancing the street as a key east-west connection in the City Centre, the upgrade seeks to encourage people to visit and stay longer – increasing social connection and supporting local businesses.

Better City Streets

The Alinga Street upgrade is part of our Better City Streets initiative, which outlines the range of social, health and economic benefits of pedestrian-friendly streets.

This includes features that make public spaces easier to move around and more enjoyable to spend time in. This creates opportunities for local shops and, in turn, a more attractive and exciting City Centre for all.
