Block 23 Registration of Interest – cultural tenancy opportunity

Registrations of interest have closed. If you would like more information regarding the future development at Block 23, please contact us.

The City Renewal Authority has undertaken a Registration of Interest (ROI) process for future tenancies at Block 23, Section 19 City—a landmark mixed‑use development within Canberra’s Civic and Cultural District.

Block 23, Section 19 is scheduled to be released in the coming years as part of the ACT Housing Supply and Land Release Program. Positioned at the corner of Northbourne Avenue and London Circuit, alongside the Territory’s Parliament, the Canberra Theatre Centre and a new lyric theatre, the site is envisioned to become one of the most significant cultural areas in the nation’s capital.

Registration of Interest process

The ROI is an early step to understand demand for future space within the proposed mixed‑use development and to identify organisations that may be interested in future tenancies. The future development is expected to deliver two new buildings accommodating cultural, civic and related community uses, hotel accommodation and offices, supported by active ground‑floor retail and hospitality.

The ROI was managed by Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), supported by an independent probity adviser to ensure the process is undertaken transparently and with integrity.

Submissions are being assessed for alignment with Canberra Civic and Cultural District objectives, operational readiness and capacity to contribute to activation and long-term place outcomes.
